The “Unified window for export-import operations” implemented in Turkmenistan is one of the key stages to the Turkmenistan’s transition to the digital economy.
This project was implemented by the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan in cooperation with international organizations such as the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
The system includes 24 ministries and industry departments that issue permits for export, import and transit of goods. Over 9,000 users registered in the system. Users receive ongoing technical support.
Since the system launch in 2024, it has proven its effectiveness. In 2024, the total number of processed applications in the “Unified window for export-import operations” was about 100 thousand, and almost 58 thousand applications were submitted for the first quarter of 2025.
The “Unified window for export-import operations” accelerated and simplified foreign economic activity. Moreover, Turkmenistan strengthens its position as a transit country: the terms of the transit of cargo are reduced, and the logistics routes become more convenient.
