The agricultural producers of Dashoguz velayat have successfully prepared for the upcoming grain harvest. As a result of timely agrotechnical measures, a good crop of winter wheat is ripening in the region’s fields. The foundation of this crop consists of high-yielding and disease- and shatter-resistant wheat varieties that have proven themselves well in the local climatic conditions, such as “Juwan,” “Sahrayy,” “Batko,” “Alekseyevich,” and “Bezostaya-100.”
The largest wheat producer in the velayat is Akdepe etrap, where wheat sowing this year covered 32,000 hectares. Wheat is ripening on 30,600 hectares in S. Turkmenbashi etrap, and wheat fields account for over 20,000 hectares in Boldumsaz etrap.
In anticipation of the upcoming harvest, all necessary organizational measures are being consistently implemented to ensure the successful conduct of the harvest, transportation, and subsequent storage of seed grain, as well as the preservation and processing of the entire grown crop. During preparations for the harvesting campaign, much attention is given to the technical readiness of grain harvesters, elevators, and grain receiving stations, as well as to fire safety issues.
It is expected that several hundred high-performance grain harvesters of well-known brands such as “John Deere” and “CLAAS” will take part in the upcoming harvest, and a greater number of vehicles will be involved in transporting the grain.
During the harvest, to maintain a high pace of work, prompt servicing of all harvesting equipment will be organized. Thanks to the phased implementation of comprehensive state programs, a full cycle for the cultivation and deep processing of grain has been established in the region. To preserve raw materials and produce finished products, Dashoguz velayat has sufficient production capacities that meet world standards. Three high-performance flour mills and seven modern elevators are successfully operating here, most of which are capable of simultaneously storing and cleaning up to 50,000 tons of grain, as well as preparing seed material.
