Compared to the same period last year, transit freight turnover in Turkmenistan increased by almost 20 percent in January–April 2025. At the same time, the volume of road freight transportation increased by almost 25 percent, while the volume of rail freight transportation increased by 6 percent.

In total, more than two million tons of goods were transported in transit across the State Border. Such an achievement became possible due to the systematic work carried out in the country to develop transport and logistics, as well as transit-transport corridors, to increase the volume of freight turnover through the customs border, and to create favorable conditions for the prompt transportation of transit cargo and the uninterrupted movement of vehicles.

Moreover, customs posts at border checkpoints have been reconstructed, their material and technical base has been strengthened, and information technologies have been introduced into customs activities.
