A delegation from Turkmenistan, comprising representatives of the State Committee of Turkmenistan on Statistics, the Central Bank of Turkmenistan, and the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, is on a visit to Kazakhstan.
The visit is organized within the framework of the project “Support in Improving Statistics on Foreign Trade in Services, as well as in Improving Statistical Information on the Volume of Passenger and Cargo Transportation,” which is being implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the State Committee of Turkmenistan on Statistics. The purpose of the visit is to familiarize with advanced practices in the collection, processing, and dissemination of statistical information in the field of international trade in services. Special emphasis in this context is placed on interagency cooperation and the application of modern digital solutions.

As part of the visit, the Turkmen delegation visited the Trade Policy Development Center “QazTrade,” where they learned about its activities, its role in shaping Kazakhstan’s export policy, and supporting foreign economic activity.
During working meetings held at the Center, an exchange of views took place regarding prospects for further cooperation in the field of statistics. The Turkmen delegation also visited JSC “National Information Technologies,” the leading operator of Kazakhstan’s electronic government infrastructure. The Turkmen representatives studied the experience of applying advanced digital solutions in data management and their use in the field of state statistics. It is expected that the knowledge gained and partnerships established during the visit will contribute to the development of a strategic roadmap for modernizing statistics on foreign trade in services and strengthening interstate cooperation in the region.
