A training on climate risk assessment and climate change adaptation in the Murghab River Basin was held in Mary from June 17 to 19. The three-day training was conducted within the framework of the regional program of the German Agency for International Cooperation.
Participants included representatives from the public and private sectors, the Hydrometeorological Service of Turkmenistan, the National Society of the Red Crescent of Turkmenistan, the Turkmenistan Nature Protection Society, the production association “Marysuwhojalyk,” and the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan.
During the training, there was an exchange of experience and knowledge in addressing various environmental issues and situations. Participants developed a shared understanding of approaches to climate change adaptation. An important role was given to the development of partnerships and the involvement of all interested parties in activities related to climate risk assessment and climate change adaptation in the Murghab River Basin. A list of adaptation measures was also developed.
