Another 5 medals – one gold, one silver and three bronze – were won by sportsmen from Turkmenistan on the second day of the WKF Central Asian Karate Championship in Bishkek.

The highest award was won in kumite among cadets in the weight category up to 52 kg by 9th grade student of the Young Olympians Training School Bogdan Kiselyov (coach Aydyn Charyyev).

The silver medalist in kumite among sportsmen under 21 in the weight category up to 55 kg was a soldier of the Security Service of the President of Turkmenistan Resul Garatayev (coach Nazmammet Satlykgulyyev).

Bronze medals were awarded to: 9th-grade student of Ashgabat Secondary School № 38 Nurgeldi Shamedov (cadet kumite in the up to 52 kg category, coach Aydyn Charyyev), 9th-grade student of Ashgabat Specialised Secondary School № 61 Alymuhammet Kakalyyev (cadet kumite in the up to 57 kg weight category, coach Aydyn Charyyev) and 1st-year student of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction Garamamet Garamamedov (kumite, up to 21 years old, up to 60 kg, coach Nazmammet Satlykgulyyev).

Earlier on the first day of the competition, Turkmen karatekas won 7 medals: two gold, two silver and three bronze.

The 10th WKF Central Asian Karate Championships are attended by 609 sportsmen from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, who are competing for medals among cadets, juniors and adults in the disciplines of kata (demonstration of formal exercises) and kumite (fights).
