Turkmenistan and the World Customs Organization signed a Memorandum on assigning the status of Regional Training Center to the Training Center in Ashgabat. The document was signed within the framework of the 145th-146th sessions of the World Customs Organization Council, held from June 26 to 28 this year in Brussels.

The memorandum consolidates agreements on the development of professional training, as well as the expansion of international educational cooperation in the field of customs. The center will operate in accordance with international standards and WCO programs, providing training, retraining and advanced training for both specialists of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and customs authorities of other countries in the region.

The assignment of the "Regional" status to the center implies holding joint seminars, trainings, courses and research work with the participation of international experts. In addition, the signing of this Memorandum was an important step towards integrating the national customs system into the global WCO educational platform.

Turkmenistan contributes to the formation of a sustainable and professional system of customs personnel training at the regional level and strengthens its role as an active participant in the global customs community.
