On August 6, 2025, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran Farzaneh Sadegh Malwajerd, who arrived in the Avaza National Tourism Zone to participate in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries. During the negotiations, the parties considered priority areas of bilateral cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian fields.

As co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian Commission on Economic Cooperation, the ministers discussed key issues on the bilateral agenda.

Possibilities for further development of cultural and humanitarian interaction were also considered.
