On August 6, 2025, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Deputy Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Fatou Haidara. About this reports MFA of Turkmenistan.   

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current interaction and prospects for cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNIDO in accordance with previously reached agreements.

The issues of industrialization and projects in the field of smart city development in the context of a “green approach” to industry were discussed.

At the meeting, it was emphasized that the UNIDO Certificate of Appreciation issued to the city of Arkadag is a high assessment of Turkmenistan’s activities within the framework of sustainable industrial development and the achievement of the 2030 Agenda.

The parties exchanged views regarding participation in upcoming events within the framework of UNIDO.
