World Blood Donor Day and important aspects of blood donation in Turkmenistan
World Blood Donor Day is celebrated every year by people around the world on June 14. It was established in May 2005 during the 58th World Health Assembly in Geneva. It is celebrated on the birthday anniversary of Karl Landsteiner on June 14, 1868. Landsteiner was awarded the Nobel Prize for his discovery of the ABO blood group system.

Construction of new airport is under completion in Lebap
Private Company «Gündogdy» finishes the construction of airport in Kerky, Lebap Region. Passenger terminal with throughput capacity of 100 passenger per hour and 2.7-km runway, which is able to receive all type of aircrafts used by the «Türkmenhowaýollary» Agency, have been built next to the city railway stations and Turkmenabat – Kerky highway. Equipment installation and commissioning works are carried out in new airport.

Saksaul - the keeper of the desert
The forestry collective of the Dashoguz velayat is consistently working to protect and increase the haloxylon forests. Tens of thousands of seedlings of this valuable plant are grown in specialized nurseries located in the region's etraps every year. So, this spring, haloxylon was planted in them on a total of eight hectares.
