Wages, pensions and benefits will be increased

From January 1, 2013, volume of wages, state benefits and pensions will be increased. Relevant decision was made today at the enlarged meeting of Cabinet of Ministers of the country, which summed up the results of development of economy within the first six months of the current year and outlined the tasks for the second half-year.

According to the resolution on “Increase of wages, pensions and state benefits in Turkmenistan” signed by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, volume of wages of workers, being financed from the budget of institutions, cost-accounting enterprises and social organizations as well as the volume of state benefits will increase by 10%, pensions – by 15%.

From January 1, 2013, the document fixes maximum volume of pensions at 741 manats per month. Minimal volume of pensions for participants of the Great Patriotic War will be 725 manats per month, maximal – 978 manats. For veterans of the Great Patriotic War, their spouses and veterans labored in home front, maximal volume of pensions is fixed at 890 manats. It was also determined a series of parameters essential for calculation of pensions and state benefits.

The document as of January 1, 2013, determines new rates of wages for officials of public authorities and machineries of government, military and law enforcement agencies, editorial boards of newspapers and magazines, social agencies and their major structural units

The resolution also determines a range of sources, which will provide the increase of wages of workers of enterprises, institutions and organizations.

As it is noted, the increase of wages, pensions and benefits will be undertaken with a view of further improvement of social and living level and social security of the population as well as successful realization of tasks outlined in the “Program of the President of Turkmenistan on socio-economic development of the country within 2012-2016”.
