These days, celebrations, conferences and exhibitions dedicated to the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 are taking place in the capital and various parts of our country. This is a visible evidence not only of the high respect for the veterans and those who remained in the rear and remained faithful to the family hearth, but also of the enduring significance of the Great Victory.

As a result of the consistent efforts of Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar, the ancestral noble traditions of the Turkmen people are carefully preserved and worthily continued in the sovereign Homeland. In our country, the older generation is deeply revered, having passed an exemplary life school – valiant compatriots who stood up for the peaceful life and freedom of all mankind, as well as those who worked day and night to achieve a common goal.

According to the relevant Decree of the Head of state, the hyakimliks of velayats, cities and etraps are assigned to solemnly present war veterans with monetary and valuable gifts on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945. This is a vivid confirmation of the great respect shown at the state level to the participants of that brutal war, who showed unparalleled heroism on the battlefields, and to the gray-haired mothers, selfless home front workers. It also clearly demonstrates the recognition of the contribution of the older generation to educating young people in the spirit of true patriotism, to strengthening the unity and cohesion of our people, and to the successful implementation of large-scale transformations in Turkmenistan.

Those fiery years are long gone, but it is impossible to forget the tragic events and the wounds they left in human hearts. Honoring the memory of national heroes, brave sons who sacrificed their lives for their homeland is one of the unshakable traditions of the Turkmen society. Therefore, on the eve of May 9, various events dedicated to the significant date are widely held in our country.

On the occasion of the glorious holiday, an exhibition “Hakyda ýazylan ýatlamalar” was organized at the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan.

There are thematic photographic materials, wise quotes from the President of Turkmenistan about the Great Victory, as well as exhibits embodying the peaceful creative life of an independent neutral Homeland.

The Turkmen people made a worthy contribution to the Great Victory. During the difficult war years, thousands of our brave compatriots fought side by side with representatives of fraternal nations, showing perseverance and heroism. Among them is Berdimuhamed Annayev, the grandfather of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, and the great-grandfather of Arkadagly Hero Serdar, whose life path serves as an example of high patriotism, courage and devotion to duty for modern Turkmen youth.

The festive exhibition features a carpet portrait of Berdimuhamed Annayev, as well as the works of the Hero-Arkadag, which are very popular among our people.

In addition, various exhibits related to the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 are on display here: soldiers’ letters from the front, orders and medals awarded to soldiers who distinguished themselves in battles, personal documents of soldiers, items of military equipment, etc.

The exhibition features documentary materials, including photographs of Turkmen women who heroically worked in the rear in 1941–1945, donated gold and silver jewelry to the front relief fund, as well as warm clothes for soldiers. The photographs of Gurban Durdy, Aydogdy Tahyrov and Allaberdi Agalyyev, who participated in the Great Patriotic War and demonstrated a high example of valor and bravery, make an indelible impression on the visitors of the exhibition.

A festive exhibition was also organized at the State Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan. The exhibition “Gahrymanlarymyza hormat” features works by famous Russian artists and sculptors. Their works reveal the heroism and unwavering spirit of our people during those harsh war years through artistic images.

The Scientific and Practical Conference “Beýik Ýeňiş – baky şöhrata beslenen gahrymançylygyň, watansöýüjiligiň öçmez nusgasy”, organized at the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management was timed to coincide with Victory Day.

The participants of the forum, which included a plenary session and a number of thematic sections, noted the importance of the date of May 9, which unites people who are proud of their ancestors and carefully preserve their heritage, a holiday that is important in educating the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism and enduring humanistic values.

The speeches emphasized that our ancestors’ dreams of a peaceful and prosperous life have come true in this happy era. It was also noted that Turkmenistan’s peace-loving policy serves as the basis for ensuring sustainable socio-economic development. At the same time, special emphasis was placed on the philosophy of peace promoted by Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar, which has universal significance. It was also emphasized that the courage shown by the Turkmen people during the harsh war years and their significant contribution to the cherished Victory are an exemplary school for current and future generations.

As noted, the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 became the most brutal and bloody in the history of mankind. Many valiant Turkmen horsemen, who stood up to defend their homeland, laid down their lives. In the modern era, thanks to the tireless work of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and the President of Turkmenistan, representatives of the older generation, whose youth coincided with the years scorched by war, and who selflessly fought for peace and a happy life for their descendants, are surrounded by constant attention and care.

The conference participants expressed their sincere gratitude to Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar and wished them sound health, longevity and further success in large-scale government activities for the well-being and prosperity of their beloved Motherland.
