Native science: a vector of progress in economic and political directions

The academy of sciences of Turkmenistan held a ceremony to award diplomas to scientists who were awarded doctoral and candidate of science degrees. The event is timed to coincide with Science Day, which is celebrated annually in the country on the 12th of the June.

Speakers at the ceremony emphasised that the constant attention and support for the development of domestic scientific potential of the head of state serves as a powerful incentive for the creative and research activities of the scientific community.

During the ceremony, the decision of the General meeting of the Academy of sciences of Turkmenistan was announced.

For his extensive work to improve the socio-economic situation of the population, develop science, education, and healthcare in accordance with international standards, introduce advanced technologies into production, as well as for his contribution to strengthening the authority of independent, neutral Turkmenistan on the world stage and promoting a policy of peace and friendship, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Gurbangulyevich Berdimuhamedov was elected an academician of the Academy of sciences of Turkmenistan in economic and political sciences.

The Decision of the Presidium of the Higher attestation committee (HAC) of Turkmenistan was also read at the meeting.

Based on the conclusions of the academic councils of the HAC in the humanities, economics, legal, and sociological sciences, and taking into account his colossal achievements in the implementation of innovative industrial and scientific-technical reforms of national and universal significance, the President of Turkmenistan, doctor of political sciences Serdar Gurbangulyyevich Berdimuhamedov, was awarded the academic title of professor in economic and political specialties.

The ceremony participants expressed sincere gratitude to the head of state for creating the conditions for bringing Turkmen science and education up to the level of developed countries.
