Turkmen students won bronze medals at the «Huawei ICT Competition 2025-2026 Global Final», which took place from the 2nd to 5th of June in Shenzhen, China.
The Turkmen team included Shirmuhammet Vepayev, chief specialist of the department of digital systems and information security at the Ministry of education of Turkmenistan; Arslan Italmazov, a student at the Institute of telecommunications and informatics of Turkmenistan; and students of the International university of oil and gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakayev, Islam Hayitmuhammedov and Gurban Orazmammedov.
Participants from Turkmenistan performed brilliantly in the Practical competition network tracking competition, the main goal of which was to comprehensively test skills in designing, configuring, and securing corporate networks.
The final stage included an eight-hour hands-on lab test, where participants tackled complex network routing, optimisation, and architectural troubleshooting challenges in real time.
More than 1,180,000 students and mentors from over 2,000 universities and 100 countries took part in the large-scale competition. The competition consisted of three stages. The first stage took place within each country, the second at the regional level. The third final stage in Shenzhen brought together 500 of the best participants, representing 170 teams from more than 40 countries.
The prestigious «Huawei ICT Competition 2025-2026 Global Final», organised by Huawei, has become an effective platform for the exchange of useful knowledge and experience among participants, the development of international youth cooperation, and the identification of talented young professionals capable of navigating the modern digital environment and creating smart solutions in the field of information and communications technology.
