School students from Turkmenistan delivered a strong performance at the Turkic International Mathematical Olympiad - TIMO 2026, held in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan, from 2 to 6 July.

This major competition brought together school students from 13 countries, including Albania, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, the Philippines, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, Uzbekistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Türkiye, and Turkmenistan.

Competing successfully on the international stage, the Turkmen team concluded the Olympiad with four awards: one bronze medal and three Honorable Mention awards.

Aykhan Orazdurdyev, a fourth-grade student at the A.S. Pushkin Joint Turkmen-Russian Secondary School, won the bronze medal, scoring 80 points among 56 participants in his age category.

Honorable Mention awards were presented to Alymukhammet Orazov from Ashgabat, as well as Ayjeren Mukhammetnazarova and Gulshat Mukhammetnazarova, both students from the city of Mary.

The international Olympiad featured challenging and non-standard problems that required not only a strong command of mathematics but also well-developed logical reasoning, attention to detail, and the ability to find correct solutions quickly.
