Since 14 July, a group of students and lecturers from the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University has been undergoing an internship at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS in Malaysia.

A specialized training center of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS has developed a special educational program for the representatives of the oil and gas university, consisting of two weeks of academic study and one week of professional training. According to the program, the students and lecturers of the Turkmen university attend specialized classes devoted to the development and application of new technologies in the oil and gas industry, as well as the introduction of artificial intelligence, digital systems, and digital tools into production processes.

The delegates from Turkmenistan are becoming acquainted with the organization and educational process at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, its laboratories, training centers, research activities, and the production facilities of the oil and gas company.

The training and industrial internship at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS contribute to enriching the theoretical knowledge and developing the professional skills of the students of the oil and gas university. The professional development courses for Turkmen lecturers will help them consistently incorporate advanced international experience into their teaching activities in the future.

PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn. Bhd., Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, and the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University have been successfully maintaining a mutually beneficial and productive partnership in the fields of science and education for several years.

In 2024, the parties signed a new Memorandum of Understanding to ensure the further continuation of this cooperation and the expansion of its scope. Based on the Memorandum, joint projects and research activities are being actively carried out in priority areas. Educational events are also regularly organized, including internships for Turkmen students and lecturers in Malaysia, as well as thematic online courses, training sessions, and other events conducted by Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS for representatives of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University.
