Holidays are following one another in our prosperous sovereign Homeland, and the country, achieving significant labor victories, is confidently moving towards a glorious anniversary – the 35th anniversary of sacred independence. As is known, on the eve of this main national holiday, the next session of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan will be held in Ashgabat on September 23, with the task of determining the key directions for the further development of the Homeland.

The Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, which sets the vector of the country’s socio-political progress in the era of the Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State, harmoniously combines the humanistic traditions of the Turkmen people, rooted deep in the centuries, with modern democratic principles. It serves as an exemplary model of nationwide discussion and resolution of the most important state tasks.

Each session of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan – the supreme representative body of people’s power, determining a clear path for the country’s rapid development – is inscribed in golden letters in the history of the Homeland as a harbinger of great deeds. In order to ensure a high organizational level of preparations for this large-scale political forum in the year “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of the Purposeful Winged Horses,” which is called upon to adopt important decisions for the sake of the happy life and bright future of the people and the strengthening of the power of the Homeland, on July 15 the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, held a meeting of the Presidium of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.

Such issues as preparations for this important event of the current year, the consideration of proposals and appeals from citizens to be reviewed at the session of the Halk Maslahaty, were discussed during the meeting. In addition, the meeting reviewed measures planned on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the sacred independence of Turkmenistan, the ongoing work to nominate compatriots who have achieved labor successes for state awards and confer honorary titles upon them, as well as measures to glorify and popularize the famous Akhal-Teke horses around the world in light of the motto of the current year.

Chairman of the Lebap Velayat Halk Maslahaty Ahmet Bazarov spoke about the work being carried out in the eastern region of the country to implement the tasks set by Hero-Arkadag at the meeting of the Presidium of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan:

“The Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan is the supreme representative body of people’s power in the country. It coordinates all the work carried out in our Homeland aimed at political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural and humanitarian development, and determines a clear vector for further activities in these areas. Speaking at the meeting of the Presidium of the Halk Maslahaty on July 15, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, emphasized: ‘Strengthening the cohesion and unity of the people, the well-being and further enhancement of the power of the independent, permanently neutral state are the main goal and key tasks of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.’”

This places great responsibility on the members of the Velayat Halk Maslahaty, political parties and public organizations, as well as on compatriots actively participating in the public life of our prosperous Homeland. The National Leader of the Turkmen people noted that preparations for holding the session of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan at a high organizational level had officially begun.

Proceeding from the instructions of Hero-Arkadag, members of the Velayat Halk Maslahaty, together with deputies of the Mejlis and activists of political parties and public organizations, are carrying out preparations for this important nationwide forum. At present, explanatory and awareness-raising work is being conducted concerning the historical and socio-political significance of the activities of the Halk Maslahaty, as well as the glorious 35th anniversary of the sacred independence of Turkmenistan and the celebration of this date with high achievements and labor victories.

There are one velayat, one city, and 11 etrap Halk Maslahaty bodies operating in the Lebap velayat. A total of 330 delegates from our region will participate in the next session of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan. Alongside the hakims of the velayats, etraps and cities, deputies of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, chairmen of the velayat, etrap and city Halk Maslahaty, and representatives of the older generation, they represent political parties and public organizations. Compatriots who enjoy authority among the population, distinguish themselves through exemplary work, and actively participate in the public life of the state have been nominated to participate in the session of the nationwide forum. At the same time, appeals and proposals from citizens are being studied.

As part of the preparations for the session of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, we are working together with the Halk Maslahaty bodies of the etraps and cities, providing them with organizational and methodological assistance. The members of the Velayat Halk Maslahaty, carrying out effective cooperation with political parties and public organizations and deputies of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, will arrive fully prepared for the session of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, which will be held in Ashgabat on September 23 of the current year, proceeding under the motto “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of the Purposeful Winged Horses.”
