In Turkmenistan, large-scale modernisation of the national healthcare system and medical industry continues as part of the implementation of the State program «Saglyk». President Serdar Berdimuhamedov announced this on the 23rd of September at a meeting of the Halk Maslahaty in Ashgabat.
The head of state announced that the opening of the International pediatrics centre, the International scientific and clinical oncology centre, and the Dental centre is planned for Healthcare and medical industry workers day in Ashgabat. In addition, a complex of buildings for the new treatment facility of the «Arçman» sanatorium will be commissioned in the Baherden etrap of the Ahal velayat.
Currently, construction is underway on the Ashgabat city multidisciplinary hospital, the Health centre in the Buzmeyin etrap of the capital, the inter-district multidisciplinary hospital in Tejen, and the Maternal and child health centre in Dashoguz.
The head of state also announced new infrastructure projects. Thus, in the near future, the foundations of 50 rural houses and health centers will be laid in the regions of the country. Long-term plans include the construction of international oncology centres in the Mary, Balkan, and Lebap velayats, a tuberculosis hospital in the Dashoguz velayat, a regional multidisciplinary hospital in Mary, as well as inter-etrap multidisciplinary hospitals in the Gyzylarbat, Koneurgench, Kerki, and Yoloten etraps.
