Scholars from Turkmen state university named after Magtymguly participated online in the international symposium «Study of the azerbaijani language and literature in the Turkic world», which took place on the 8th to 9th of October in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
The scientific forum was organized jointly by Khazar University (Azerbaijan) and the Kyrgyz national university named after Jusup Balasagyn. The event is dedicated to two anniversaries: the 100th anniversary of the Baku Turkological kurultai and the 100th anniversary of the J. Balasagyn KNU.
Researchers from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, France and other countries took part in the symposium.
The symposium included several sections where scholars discussed current issues in the study of the Azerbaijani language and literature and their role in the common Turkic cultural space. The topics of teaching the Azerbaijani language and literature in different countries, as well as the interaction of language and literature with other spheres of life, were discussed.
Amannepes Shyhnepesov, candidate of philological sciences and head of the department of Turkmen literature at TSU named after Magtymguly, spoke at the forum.
The scientist presented a substantive report on the topic «The experience of translating poetic texts from the Turkmen language into Azerbaijani and from Azerbaijani into Turkmen (based on translations of the works of Magtymguly Fragi and Samed Vurgun)».
A representative of the Turkmen university, Tagandurdy Bekjayev, candidate of philological sciences and senior lecturer in the Turkmen language department, also presented his scientific report, «Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani literature in the language of Magtymguly Fragi».
Following the symposium, an exchange of opinions took place, proposals for the development of scientific cooperation were considered, and appropriate decisions were made. Participants of the international forum were awarded certificates.
