It was held a regular meeting of the Interdepartmental committee on securing the fulfillment of commitments of Turkmenistan in the field of human rights and international humanitarian law. Representatives of the Parliament, a series of ministries and departments, law enforcement agencies, social organizations and mass media participated in the meeting taken place at the Turkmen National Institute of Democracy and Human Rights at the President of Turkmenistan.
In the course of the meeting, it was considered the issues connected with solution of priority tasks within the framework of law reform, monitoring of legislative base of the country and preparation of proposals on implementation of norms of international law in the field of human rights into national legislation.
The agenda also included the issues of practical realization of “National program of Turkmenistan on early development of child and his training for school within 2011-2015” and “General Program of Turkmenistan on development of legal system for under age matters” approved by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Adoption of these important documents prepared taking into account major aspects of the state policy, being pursued in this field by relevant ministries and departments of the country jointly with international organizations as well as with UNICEF - United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund, is a vivid confirmation of adherence of the Turkmen state to undertaken international commitments.
