The ceremony of laying flowers to the monument to Kemal Ataturk, a prominent politician and statesman, who had laid the foundations of the independent Republic of Turkey, took place in the park located in the heart of the Turkmen capital.
Following tradition, officials of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Ashgabat and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, representatives of the public organizations, top managers of Turkish companies operating on the Turkmen market, teachers and students of Turkmen-Turkish educational institutions and journalists come there each year to pay tribute to the leader of the Turkish people on the day he died.
Ceremony participants stood in honour of the memory of the great reformer who is highly esteemed and worshipped in the brotherly country.
Addressing the ceremony, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey in Turkmenistan Shevki Mutevellioglu thanked all those present and expressed profound sincere gratitude to the people of Turkmenistan for the brotherly feelings towards the Turkish people and the respect for their national shrines and traditions.
