A parade of architectural premiers taken place throughout the country continues in the Babadurmaz settlement in Ahal. Nine social facilities, including a kindergarten for 200 children, a secondary school for 400 pupils, the Centre of Culture and Rural Health Centre, administrative buildings of the body of local self-government and peasant association, a toad bridge across the Karakum River, a communication centre and a mosque, a drinking water plant were put into operation there. Moreover, rural motor roads, sewerage system, water conduit, transmission facilities, etc. were built in the settlement.



The decision on fundamental modernization of the social and economic infrastructure of the Babadurmaz settlement was adopted after President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the settlement during a working trip round Ahal Velayat last February. Speaking with the people residing in the Babadurmaz settlement, the Turkmen leader asked them about labour and living conditions and instructed the relevant officials to ensure reconstruction of the social facilities, construction of new objects and improvement of the settlement.


A year and half passed since that significant meeting and the President of Turkmenistan personally congratulated the people of the Babadurmaz settlement on implementation of the plans and putting a complex of modern buildings supplied with all necessary equipment into operation. In his congratulatory address the Turkmen leader note: “We will continue construction of apartment houses with improved conditions, social and cultural facilities, recreation centres, entertaining and sports complexes within the framework of the national strategy aimed at increasing the wellbeing of the people of Turkmenistan”.
