XIV Conference of the World Turkmen took place in Turkmenbashi.
Our compatriots living in more than twenty countries of the world, including Germany, Austria, China, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and the CIS countries arrived in Turkmenistan to take part in the forum.
The government officials, workers of culture and art, members of the Humanitarian Association of the World Turkmen as well as representatives of public organisations, mass media and higher educational institutions in Ashgabat attended the solemn ceremony of opening of the Turkmen forum.
During the conference it was reported on the progress in implementing the large-scale social and economic reforms aimed at increasing the wellbeing of the Turkmen people and its authority at the international arena.
Some organizational issues were also discussed during the conference. Relieving M.H. Abalakov of the post of the Vice President of the Humanitarian Association of the World Turkmen because of retirement, Chief Executive Officer of the Elders’ Council of Turkmenistan G.Myradov was appointed to the position.
The diverse programme of cultural events prepared by the conference organizers for our compatriots living abroad includes numerous meetings with youth, people of Ashgabat, as well as visits to concerts, exhibitions, museums, new industrial, social and cultural facilities and the sights in Turkmenbashi and the Avaza National tourist zone.
Our compatriots will also be the guests of honour to the festivities dedicated to the main holiday of the country – the Day of Independence of Turkmenistan.
