Vice-premier, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov had a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Najibullah Alikhil who is completing his diplomatic mission in our country.

The sides have highly appreciated the level of interstate dialog, which is based on the principles of good neighborliness, respect and transparency. Having highlighted the input of Turkmenistan to the promotion of peaceful process in Afghanistan, the Ambassador expressed gratitude to the Government of Turkmenistan for comprehensive support to the people of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan as well as for assistance in his diplomatic mission.

Significance of joint projects including the construction of Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan – India gas line, Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan power and fiber optic lines has been highlighted during the meeting. In this context, recent ceremony of signing of documents, which are to support further implementation of joint infrastructural projects in Kabul with participation of President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, has been mentioned.

In the end of the meeting, the gratitude has been expressed to Ambassador Najibullah Alikhil for contribution to multidimensional Turkmen – Afghan dialog.
