The complete census of population and housing has started in Turkmenistan on December 15. In accordance with the Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan as well as in line with the decision of the United Nations Organization on holding the complete census of population and housing in the UN member states in 2005-2014, the people of Turkmenistan will answer the questions of census takers at homes or stationary stations within 12 days on December 15-26.

The main goal of the important campaign is to receive comprehensive information on the population, demographic breakdown, social conditions of life of the Turkmen population that is necessary for further prediction of the social development and implementation of plans envisaged by the National programme of the social and economic development of Turkmenistan for 2011-2030.

As was reported, the first stage of the census was held in 365 settlements in 20regions which are20 difficult of access in 28 etraps in all velayats of the country.
