The International Exhibition on the Education in the Epoch of Great Revival and the conference on the development of education in Turkmenistan started the work in the Turkmen capital. The large-scale forum initiated by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov is organized by the Ministry of Education and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.
The exhibition arranged in the Exhibition Centre is to showcase the achievements gained in the national education system and be a next step to promote fruitful international cooperation in this area. The fact that specialists from more than 40 foreign companies, a number of international organisations, research and educational centres from different countries of the world and 50 Turkmen leading educational institutions and private enterprises participate in the forum testifies to a huge interest of the world community in our country.
The ceremony of opening of the international exhibition brought together the heads and representatives of the Mejlis, ministries and sectoral departments, public organizations of the Galkynys National Movement, diplomatic missions accredited to Turkmenistan, journalists and numerous foreign guests.
In his welcome address to forum participants President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that in modern conditions the development of a national educational system, the strengthening of its place in the international educational system was particularly interrelated with the introduction of advanced training technologies, scientific advances and innovations. To meet modern requirements and objectives Turkmenistan employs the innovative way of development which is aimed at establishing a modern education system and place our country among politically, economically and culturally developed countries of the world.
The main goal of the new national educational policy is to create the effective system of training highly qualified specialists in the country, whose qualification should meet international requirements. The topicality of the education reform is obvious for only the high standards of youth education, arming them with knowledge and practical skills and lofty moral and aesthetic norms will ensure the full implementation of the country’s tremendous potential.
The necessary conditions have been created in Turkmenistan so that youth will receive education in compliance with international standards which is essential for enhancing the intellectual potential of the nation, generating human resources and training high qualified specialists for the national economy. To meet modern requirements the training and educational capacity of secondary and higher educational institutions have been modernized and the teaching methods have been updated. Higher educational institutions throughout Turkmenistan offer a wide spectrum of disciplines and specialties to acquire, and they steadily increase in number. Turkmenistan concludes the agreements on mutual recognition of documents of education with foreign countries. Today Turkmen youth has an opportunity to study at prestigious high schools in the Russian Federation, the People’s Republic of China, Turkey, Malaysia, Ukraine, Belarus and other countries.
The ongoing education reforms provide for modernization of training and educational infrastructure. In Turkmenistan nearly all leading higher educational institutions have moved to new buildings. The construction of modern preschool institutions and education facilities has been launched in all regions of the country, even in remote settlements. New educational institutions are equipped with innovative technologies. Children and youth in rural areas in our country have access to multimedia and computer equipment and interactive teaching methods in the new historical epoch. All of this will certainly help young citizens of Turkmenistan to receive education meeting international standards, enrich their inner world, broaden their mind and get acquainted with scientific achievements that will arouse the interest of youth in science.
A critical role in modernising the national education system is assigned to the practical use of best international practices in this sphere.
