The International Women’s Day was widely celebrated in Turkmenistan. This day filled with fuss, smiles, bright sweet-smelling bouquets of flowers and worm wards is a wonderful occasion to pay honours to women, to give them every attention and love.
On the eve of the International Women’s Day, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov issued Decree on awarding mothers of many children, who gave birth and brought up eight and more children, with the title of honour of Turkmenistan “Ene Mahri” and the Resolution on presenting money gifts to women of Turkmenistan who work at enterprises, institutions and organisations of all forms of ownership, women who receive pensions and welfare payments, women who attend the off-the-job training courses, students, schoolgirls and kindergarten girls.
The ceremonies of awarding mothers of many children, who gave birth and brought up eight and more children, with the title of honour of Turkmenistan “Ene Mahri” took place in the Turkmen capital as well as all regions and etraps of the country.
An important event in the social and political life of the country was the II session of the Union of Women’s of Turkmenistan taken place in the Turkmen capital on the eve of the Women’s Day with the aim to define the tasks on further development of this authoritative public organisation. Initiative women from all regions of the country representing all branches of the national economy, heads of enterprises, civil servants and women-entrepreneurs took part in the meeting.
The ceremony of awarding the winners of the Woman of the Year Contest took place on the eve of the holiday. Winners of velayat contests, famous women of Turkmenistan, active members of women’s organisations and students were invited to attend the solemn ceremony. The contest was organized by the Union of Women of Turkmenistan.
Various events dedicated to beautiful women and ceremonies of presenting money gifts on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan on occasion of the International Women’s Day took place at enterprises and institutions, ministries and departments, in educational establishments throughout the country. Thematic exhibitions, creative contests and meetings with writers were arranged in the centres of culture, museums and libraries of the Turkmen capital.
A wonderful present to women was a State concert performed at the Maslahat köşgi Conference Palace. Best professional groups of the country, folklore ensembles, national musicians, popular singers presented their talent and mastership to Turkmen women.
A bright bouquet of remarkable festive events was presented to glorious daughters of the independent Motherland on March 8.
Women from all regions of the country who achieved outstanding success in work, bringing children and social work were invited to the festivity organized by the Central Council of the Union of Women of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Culture at the Mizan Business Centre. The festive concerts with participation of popular singers were performed at the Watan and Turkmenistan Cinema and Concert Centres.
Thus, the large-scale events dedicated to the International Women’s Day became another reflection of the high respect and admiration for a woman as a shrine, custodians of wellbeing and inviolability of homes.
