This year Turkmenistan is hosting Nowruz celebrations on an international scale. Distinguished guests and numerous delegations from foreign countries who will participate in the festive actions have arrived and are arriving in our country.

The spectacular actions will take place in the countryside, in a picturesque interior of the submontane valley near Ashgabat where a stylized Turkmen village with colourfully decorated yurts, bazaars, craftsmen's workshops, tamdyr and other thoroughly reproduced attributes of the traditional way of life of the Turkmen people has sprung up as the venue for the celebrations. Modern design elements of the main entrance and stage, exhibition pavilions, decorative appearance of the area and its thematic sections where bright folklore and ethnographic art shows will be presented add the strokes to this colourful picture.

The participation of distinguished guests, including leaders and high-ranking officials of states and international organisations, in the festive events at the invitation of the Turkmen side illustrates the high status of the upcoming celebrations. These include the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations, the leaders of Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan and the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation and the heads of the delegations of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey.
