The ceremonies of laying foundation stone of new modern settlements took place in Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary Velayat.
During the April 12 enlarged government meeting the President of Turkmenistan issued the Resolution authorizing to build a modern settlement in each region of the country – Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary Velayat, which would meet high requirements of the new historical epoch in all respects. In accordance with the Resolution, the construction is to start in April this year and be completed in June 2016. The velayat khyakimliks are responsible for designing the development plans of the new settlements and monitoring the construction of buildings and facilities in the settlements.
The heads of the velayat and etrap administrations, representatives of the Mejlis and public organizations, the elders and young citizens attended the ceremonies of laying foundation stones of new modern settlements in the regions. The ceremony participants emphasized the importance of the events which marked a new critical step to promote the ambitious reforms initiated by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Those drastic changes, in accordance with the national development plans of the Turkmen leader, are aimed at increasing the standards and quality of life of Turkmen citizens and developing modern social and economic infrastructure throughout the country, in urban and rural areas.
The ceremonies were held in a festive atmosphere brightened with unique national colours and attributes and the performances enthusiastically glorifying the creativity of the new epoch were presented. That memorable day was also marked by the action of planting young trees which would grow together with new buildings and facilities.
