Equestrian sports in the focus of festive events

The festive events held in the agro-industrial enterprises, the Ministry of Defense and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan focused on further development of the horse breeding industry of Turkmenistan.

As is known, the horses of these agencies took the first places in the 1,000-meter horse racing events, which launched the festive tournaments on occasion of the Turkmen Horse Day and demonstrated the high skills of jockeys who belong to elder generations.

As was reported, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took part in the horse racing event. His wonderful horse Berkarar reached the finish first enrapturing numerous spectators including hundreds of foreign guests who had arrived in our country to participate in the festivities on occasion of the Turkmen Horse Day.

The winner of the tournament received more than eleven million US dollars or 85 percent of the prize fund. Akbilek representing the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan ranked the second and won ten percent of the fund and Gadyr participating in the competitions on behalf of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan took the third place and won five percent of the prize fund.

Answering the journalists’ questions upon completion of the tournament, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that he would pass the monetary prize to the Turkmen Atlary State Association for further development of the horse breeding industry of Turkmenistan, increase the population of Ahalteke horses in the country and enhance of the material and technical base of this sphere.

During a meeting at the Dovletliler Koshgi Palace, the representatives of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan stated that they would transmit the sum of the monetary prize won by Gadyr horse to children studying in the Palace. Their decision was approved by the President of Turkmenistan.

The meeting participants expressed with satisfaction that priority attention was paid to establishment of wide international cooperation, including exchange of experience within the framework of business trips, international forums, thematic expositions, business meetings with the members of the world leading associations of horse breeders that have become an integral part of the wonderful spring holiday.
