A festivity in honour of the 68th anniversary of the Great Victory took place at the Mekan Palace. Monetary awards and gifts as well as wonderful bouquets of spring flowers were awarded to war veterans and war widows on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan. The festive event was organized by the Central Council of War Veterans of Turkmenistan, the Policy Council of the Democratic Party, public organisations, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Culture, khyakimliks of Ashgabat and velayats.

Those present, including the heads and representatives of public organisations of the country, Ashgabat Khyakimlik, students and schoolchildren, workers of culture and art as well as numerous local citizens congratulated the veteran of war and labour and expressed deep gratitude to them for their selfless labour in the name of the Great Victory.

The best artistic groups of the Turkmen capital, the Military Band of the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan as well as popular artists performed a concert programme.
