The festive events in honour of the Victory Day widely celebrated on May 9 took place throughout the country.
The Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan jointly with Ashgabat Khyakimlik organized festive concerts with participation of famous musicians and singers, popular artists, bagshis at the Turkmenistan and Watan Cinema and Concert Centres for veterans of war and labour.
A conference dedicated to the significance of the book by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov “The Good Name is Imperishable” in patriotic education of younger generation by example of the main hero of the book – Berdimuhamed Annaev ho was known as a notable personality, talented teacher and brave soldier took place at D. Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages. The conference organized by the Political Council of the Democratic Party, the Central Council of ther War Veterans Organisation and the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan brought together war veterans, scientists, professors, representatives of public organizations and students of Ashgabat higher educational institutions.
Each year, on the eve of the Victory Day, selfless workers on the home front as well as war widows are the guests of honour to enterprises, schools and higher educational institutions. War veterans gather together and tell about those heroic years. The ceremonies of laying flowers to the monuments erected throughout the country in honour of Turkmen soldiers, who died a hero's death in the struggle against fascism have taken place in all regions of the country these days.
The solemn ceremony of laying flowers to the Eternal Flame will take place in Ashgabat on May 9. This day, the festive events are organized on the central squares of administration centres, cities and settlements in Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary Velayats as well as on the stages of “Turkmenistan” and “Watan” Cinema and Concert Centres in Ashgabat. The best musical groups of the country present concerts and theatrical performances to war veterans.
This day, the meetings with war veterans and war widows, musical and theatrical performances, exhibitions, concerts with participation of artistic groups of the country are arranged everywhere. Valuable gifts and flowers are presented to war veterans and those who served on the home front during these meetings.
All necessary conditions are created for war veterans in the country thanks to numerous benefits provided to them on the initiative of the Turkmen leader. By tradition, on the eve of the Victory Day, monetary awards and valuable presents were gifted to war veterans, those who served on the home front and war widows.
A big festive concert will be performed at the “Ashgabat” Concert Centre in the evening on May 9. Wonderful poems and songs glorifying the heroic deed of our fathers and grandfathers, Turkmenistan’s adherence to the ideals of peace and humanity will be performed by masters of culture and arts of Turkmenistan during the concert.
