The one-week training workshop organized by the State Committee for Television, Radio and Cinematography of Turkmenistan in collaboration with the office of the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) finished at the Turkmenistan Broadcasting Centre.

The programme of the Television Programme Production and Broadcasting workshop included the extension courses for staff members of Turkmen television channels, including the recently established Ashgabat TV channel. The trainings were conducted by professors of the Maltepe University, which is one of the top higher education institutions in the Republic of Turkey and has prestige with the international scientific and educational community.


The trainings were conducted at the telecommunication centre where producers, sound engineers, operators, designers and editors mastered their skills of using state-of-the-art television and radio equipment and devices. Workshop participants also learned about new trends in the theory of television journalism and how to write offscreen commentaries and broadcast news, conduct interviews and prepare on-the-spot reportages.

Exchanging views, training participants underlined the benefits of this kind of training that helped to improve professional skills, called for enhancing fruitful partnerships in this sphere and discussed possibilities to foster collaboration
