Negotiations between governmental delegations of Turkmenistan and Republic of Lithuania were held in Ashgabat. In the course of them, it was discussed the state and prospects of further development of the Turkmen-Lithuanian cooperation. The parties expressed mutual interest in expansion of mutually beneficial partnership, establishment of long-term contacts between ministries and sectoral departments as well as business circles of Turkmenistan and Lithuania.

According to the results of negotiations, it was signed a series of bilateral documents, including the Agreement between government of Turkmenistan and government of Republic of Lithuania on elimination of double taxation and prevention of fiscal evasion in point of income and capital taxes, Agreement between government of Turkmenistan and government of Republic of Lithuania on economic cooperation and Memorandum of Understanding between Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and Association of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Trade of Lithuania.
