A new building of the velayat library-central building of books is constructed in Turkmenabad. It will be a white marble-coated building of three domes which of one will be an observatory. This large project of culture will be erected on the street Bitarap Туркменистан – a central road of the city on the Amyderya. Along with its adjoining territory, it will occupy an area of 2 hectares. The depository of the project is designed to hold 1 million books. In the first and second floors of the building, one can order necessary books and there will be thematic reading halls, computer room, internet hall, archives, café, service and additional premises. The third floor will house the conference for 250 men, a museum of astronautics, and an observatory (a dome with a telescope in the central part of the building will be mobile).


The library will have its autonomous transforming substation, boiler, pumping, and central air conditioning units, outdoor and indoor parks. The territory will be lighted with original lights during night and dozens of trees will be planted, lawns and flowerbeds will be laid out There. The sidewalks will be covered with decorative slabs.

The local constructing companies carry out the realization of the project there. The ferroconcrete works of the foundation and ground floor have been already completed. Now, they are working on the first floor. When the team of fitters and framework engineers will go upper floors, then finishers will continue up their work.

The last date of the turnkey project is designated as December 2014.

The new building of the library will add to a wonderful architectural ensemble of the downtown of Turkmenabad. It is built not far from the grand vilayet music and drama theatre named after and central square of the city with a flagpole where sculptures of historical personalities have been placed.
