The IV Turkmenistan-Russia Economic Forum started its work

The opening ceremony of the IV Turkmenistan-Russia Economic Forum took place in Belgorod, one of the dynamically developing regions of the Russian Federation. The forum is organized by the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation in accordance with the intergovernmental agreements. It should also be noted that the IV Turkmenistan-Russia Business Forum is included in the programme of the chairmanship of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan in the CIS Council of Heads of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2013.

A delegation consisting of the heads and specialists of the subdivisions of leading ministries and departments and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs arrived from Turkmenistan in Belgorod to participate in the forum. The Russian Federation is represented by the heads and specialists of ministries, departments, research and educational institutions, including the Academy of Sciences of the Russian Federation, the administration of Belgorod Oblast, major enterprises, companies and firms that operate in various sectors of the national economy. The geography of the participants is quite broad – Moscow, Belgorod, Cheboksary, Yekaterinburg, St. Petersburg, Ulyanovsk, among others.

The business programme includes plenary sessions, roundtables, visits to the enterprises in Belgorod Oblast and bilateral meetings. Discussion focuses on the ways to enhance cooperation in agriculture, trade, construction, transport and communications, housing construction, power engineering, healthcare and medical industry, education and culture.

In accordance with the programme of the IV Turkmenistan-Russia Economic Forum, the members of the Turkmen delegation participated in the official opening ceremony of the IX Belgorod Construction Forum and the interregional exhibition “Modern City: Power Engineering. Resource Saving. Ecology” held at the Belexpocenter exhibition and congress centre. Representatives of key ministries and departments of Turkmenistan got acquainted with construction projects, modern technologies, industrial, civil, road and housing construction equipment and materials, road construction and lifting equipment presented by the leading Russian companies at the exhibition.

In the afternoon representatives of the ministries, departments, enterprises and organisations of the agro-industrial, trade and economic, construction sectors, including road construction and municipal engineering, held roundtable meetings. Exchanging views on the prospect for expanding bilateral cooperation, the forum participants expressed the willingness to promote full cooperation, given the possible involvement of Russian companies in the implementation of new large-scale projects.

The IV Turkmenistan-Russia Economic Forum will continue its work tomorrow. The agenda will focus on cooperation of Turkmen ministries, agencies and organisations with Russian enterprises in the fields, such as transport and communications, education, healthcare and power and chemical industries.
