The XVI Conference of the Humanitarian Association of the World Turkmens took place in the Mekan Palace in Ashgabat.
The XVI Conference of the Humanitarian Association of the World Turkmens brought together over 140 representatives of the Turkmen diasporas from different countries all over the world as well as the delegates from all regions of Turkmenistan. On the eve of the forum, the foreign guests participated in the Elders' Council meeting held in Dashoguz as well as numerous festivities within the framework of the meeting, including the presentation of the new book written by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov - the novel entitled "Döwlet guşy", the ceremony of opening of the Palace of Happiness as well as other events held on occasion of the 22d anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan.
The cabinet ministers, deputies of the Mejlis, ambassadors of Turkmenistan to foreign countries, the heads and representatives of the large public organizations of our country, a number of ministries, departments and institutions of higher education of Turkmenistan - members of the Humanitarian Association of the World Turkmens as well as journalists and workers of culture and art participated in the solemn ceremony of opening the forum.
Addressing the forum participants, President of Turkmenistan, President of the Humanitarian Association of the World Turkmens Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined the significance of work of the Association in developing the intergovernmental relations, supporting the global peace and wellbeing.
"Widening of the cultural and humanitarian relations with our brothers living in various regions of the world is a priority vector of the state policy of Turkmenistan. We will further strengthen the good neighbourly mutually beneficial relations with the world states, including the countries where Turkmen diasporas reside", said the Turkmen leader in his address.
Those speaking during the forum, including the representatives of the Turkmen diasporas residing in Afghanistan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, the UAE, Turkey, etc. told about the work of the foreign agencies of the Association and emphasized that the Turkmen diasporas residing in foreign countries carefully preserve their national traditions and customs, widely celebrate the holidays of the Turkmen state, study the native language and issue various publications in the Turkmen language,and establish creative groups that popularize the Turkmen art and culture. The representatives of the Turkmen diasporas paid particular attention to the work carried out by the Turkmen cultural societies abroad to prepare for the forthcoming jubilee of the great Turkmen poet - Magtymguly Fragi to be celebrated next year.
During the solemn ceremony within the framework of the forum, the symbol of the Humanitarian Association of the World Turkmens and diplomas were awarded to the foreign members of the Association who achieved outstanding results in their activity. The membership cards were awarded to the newly elected members of the Association.
