Turkmenistan prepares for the important social and political campaign - elections of the deputies to the Mejlis of the fifth convocation scheduled for December 15. At the moment, 125 constituencies and election commissions have been established in the country, the district election commissions are in the fields.

In accordance with the existing legislation, the parliamentary candidates are nominated at present. The agenda of the meetings organized by the local committees of the Democratic Party and the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, public organizations and associations, as well as the groups of citizens of Turkmenistan throughout the country focuses on the discussion of the worthy candidates who will be entrusted to represent the interests of the people in the highest organ of legislative power. Among the nominees are the specialists of various branches of the national economy, the spheres of education, healthcare, social security, culture and science as well as agricultural workers, etc.

The Mejlis of the new convocation will address a wide range of tasks in the legislative area.
