The right of citizens of Turkmenistan for protection of health from negative impact of tobacco smoke will be sustained by the law.
In 2011, Turkmenistan ratified the Framework Convention of the World Health Organization on fight against tobacco and worked out “National action plan on fight against tobacco for 2012-2016” jointly with the European Regional Bureau of WHO.
Making a speech at the WHO European Ministerial Conference on the prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases opened on December 3, the President of Turkmenistan informed that presently, the Parliament of Turkmenistan prepares for adoption of the Law “On protection of citizens’ health from impact of tobacco smoke and consequences of use of tobacco products”.
