Young Snow Maidens from all regions of the country gathered together in Ashgabat on the eve of the New Year 2012 where they participated in the contest organized by the Central Council of the Women’s Union and the Ministry of Education.
36 competitors from each velayat and Ashgabat participated in the final round of the contest that took place at the Watan Cinema and Concert Centre. The finalists are the winners of the qualification rounds which were held in etrpas, towns, velayats and the Turkmen capital.
The final round became a difficult test for the girls who competed for the title. They had to demonstrate their talents to the jury and spectators.
Performing in the first nomination, the girls told about the most significant events of the year 2011. According to the rules of the other nominations they were to celebrate the New Year party and create a festive atmosphere. They decorated a New Year’s tree as quickly as possible, sang merry songs, recited poems and performed dance compositions.
It was a difficult task for the jury to select the only one and award the title “Garpamyk 2012”. The jury took the decision to select six Snow Maidens. They will be the main presenters of the fairytale performances which will be held in the administrative centres of all regions and in the Turkmen capital.
Here are the happy winners! Nurana Pirnazarova (Dashoguz Velayat), Myahri Kullaeva (Ahal Velayat), Guljahan Paygamova (Lebap Velayat), Jeren Orazdurdyeva (Mary Velayat), Sulgun Komekova (Balkan Velayat) and Melika Gayipnazarova from Ashgabat got the title “Garpamyk-2012”.
We should mention the other young artists, the winners of various creative contests including the Merjen Dyaneleri national art contest, who helped to organize this enchanting show and presented their performances during the ‘pauses’ between the contests.. The spectators rewarded young artists with stormy applause.
The winners received valuable prizes on behalf of the organizers. The other participants received the encouragement prizes. The happy audience rewarded the organizers and participants of the contest with a storm of applause.
