The Union of Women of Turkmenistan held a meeting in Ashgabat with participation of the heads of the velayat, strap and municipal branches, primary organizations of the Union, archons. Among the forum participants were the Chairperson of the Mejlis, the deputies of the National Parliament, the heads of ministries and departments, representatives of public organizations and journalists.

The agenda of the meeting focused on the role of a woman in the social and state life of the country as well as bringing up the younger generations in the spirit of selfless love to the beloved Motherland in a spirit of the high national spiritual and moral traditions and values of the Turkmen people.

The meeting participants also considered the role of the Union of Women in the struggle against the illicit drug traffic and reeducation of people violating the rules of the social ethics. Underlining the importance of the complex work in this area, the meeting participants emphasized on the necessity to consolidate the efforts to counteract this dangerous evil.
