During the press conference, the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda of Turkmenistan announced the preliminary results of the elections of the deputies of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan of the V convocation.
Journalists representing the world leading new agencies, online and print media accredited in our country, international observers as well as the heads and journalists of the national mass media attended the press conference.
According to the preliminary results, 91.30 percent of registered voters participated in the elections of Mejlis deputies.
By 10 am on December 16, the ballots and protocols received from 1,542 polling stations of 2,446 ones that is 63.04 percent have been processed. At present, the members of the commission count the electoral votes received from the polling stations opened at the diplomatic missions and consular offices of Turkmenistan in foreign countries. The final results of the elections will be announced in the near future.
