The Mejlis of Turkmenistan of the fourth convocation held the twenty-third session, within the framework of which the parliamentarians considered a number of draft laws and legal acts. The heads of the ministries and departments concerned as well as the representatives of the national mass media were invited to attend the meeting.
The meeting agenda focused on the draft Law on Denationalization and Privatization of State Property.
The wide introduction of the most advanced achievements of the scientific and technological progress in all spheres of the national economy requires improving the legal relations in the sphere of certification as well, strengthening the legislative basis in this area brining it in compliance with the international standards. All this provided the basis for drafting the Law of Turkmenistan on Certification, which defines the legal framework for certification of products and the product quality system, works and services in Turkmenistan.
The parliamentarians also considered the draft Law on the Protection from Exposure to Tobacco Smoke and Health Effects of Cigarette Smoking developed in accordance with the significant aspect of Turkmenistan's policy – protection of the health of citizens, their welfare and popularization of healthy lifestyles in the society.
The meeting participants discussed the drafts of the Martial Law of Turkmenistan, the Laws on the Procedures for Amending the Code of Administrative Offences of Turkmenistan, on Amending the Law of Turkmenistan on the State Pension Insurance, on the Mejlis of Turkmenistan.
Adopting the draft laws put on the agenda of the twenty-third session of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan of the fourth convocation, the national parliamentarians expressed belief that the new legislative documents would promote the further comprehensive development of the Turkmen state.
