In the Central Commission for elections and referendums in Turkmenistan, the elected deputies of the national parliament received the certificates. Since this moment, they are rightful representatives of people in the supreme legislative authority of the country. New deputy’s corps of the national parliament came to 125 elected representatives of the people, who will have to solve responsible tasks of legislative securing of realization of national programs during next five years.

It is worth mentioning that 283 candidates were put to the vote for the parliament. Nomination of the candidates was realized by the Democratic Party, Party of the Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, social organizations and associations as well as groups of citizens. On the day of elections, on December 15, the voting was held at polling stations, where 91.33 percents of total number of voters – nearly three million persons took part in.

It is necessary to note the high educational and professional level of deputies included into composition of the Parliament of Turkmenistan. The leading specialists of main sectors of economy and social sphere are among them. The age of a bulk of elected representatives of the people is from 31 to 51 year old. 33 women – 26.40 percent of total number of deputies represent the deputy’s corps of the fifth convocation.
