Summing up the results of the year of 2013, Ak Bugday strap was recognized the best etrap of the country. The strap achieved the highest results in the social, economic and cultural spheres among the etraps in regions and cities of the country. According to the Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan, one million US dollars will be awarded to the Ak Bukday Etrap Khyakimlik. According to the document, the Central Bank of Turkmenistan will allocate the funds from the State Fund for the Golden Age Development of Turkmenistan.

The contest for the best etrap was held with the aim to ensure the successful implementation of the Programme of the President of Turkmenistan on the Social and Economic Development of Turkmenistan for 2012-2016, sustainable development of regions and promote introduction of the most advanced technologies in various industries.
