The cheapest form of energy is the saved energy: It does not need to be produced, transported or transformed. To save for example, natural gas –it means to reduce expenses on its production, processing and transportation of the blue fuel to our houses, and it is a huge means, which could be directed to other branches of industry, could enable increase the expenses on social needs and improvement of the living standards of population. Our correspondent asked the head of the department of management of gas consumption, registration, and realization of gas of the union “Turkmengassupply” Maral Taganova of how one can manage consumption of gas and save natural fuel by that:
- People have got used to that natural gas is supplied to houses regularly and at that no one remembers of existence of the limit to the free natural gas per person which was fixed over 20 years ago, - 600 cubic meters a year per person. Moreover, all these years the price for extra 1000 cubic meters made up just 2 manats.
At present, in connection with the growing economic uplift and rise of living standards of population the consumption of gas inside the country has significantly increased. There arose the need for introduction of modern, international standards and system of registration of gas consumption. With this view the state concern “Turkmengas” 124 000 gas meters have been purchased. Already over 61 000 gas meters of this quantity have been installed to control the expense of natural fuel. And this work will be continued in all provinces as many consumers allow extra use of natural gas in their households. As the statistics shows, in addition to the limit of fuel, provided with a view of improvement of social security of population, as much as one and half times more additional natural gas was consumed.
Natural resources are not unlimited and it is important for us to decide how we should make a reasonable use of the riches that we possess. Besides it, by the decree of the president of the country of 1992 it was established that free supply of natural gas is not subject to its use in hot houses , heating of cottage and orchard plots, individual garages, for operation of equipment used in individual and cooperative production ownership. In fact it is in this sector consumption of fuel a significant amount of consumption is allowed.
With a purpose of ensuring of rational use of natural gas by population of our country and regulation of calculations for natural gas beginning from February 1, 2014, the price of natural gas over the free limit provided, was fixed at an amount of 20 manats for 1000 cubic meters included VAT.
The high demand for rational use of natural fuel is fully natural. In many households, it was fixed the cases with wasteful use of natural gas, for example, in some places 10 and over cast-iron moveable wood stoves is operated with natural gas for heating the hotbeds. Though, according to the calculations, made by the research planning institute of oil and gas of the state concern “Turkmengas” , for heating 100 м2 plot of hotbed upon use of gas –fired boiler with a factory made gas stove burner fuel is used 2,6 times lesser a month than with use of gas stove with a hand-made burner. I think, with these figures it would be interesting for owners of private economies to get familiarized.

Besides it, a homemade boiler with a gas burner consumes 11000 cubic meters of gas a month and at the same time, a factory made one uses two times lesser.
