The Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan held a working meeting focusing on the preparations for a massive tree planting action - yovar, which will be held on March 15.
The cabinet ministers, the heads of number of ministries and departments concerned, the higher educational institutions, the representatives of the khyakimliks of the regions and Ashgabat, the public organisations and the media participated in the meeting.
In accordance with the instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the meeting participants discussed the plan of actions to be taken this spring to achieve the objectives of the National Forest Programme and identified specific measures for intensification and coordination of this work. In particular, the areas of land where young trees are to be planted were selected. Particular attention was paid to the proper care and watering of green plantations
It was noted that 1.5 million deciduous, coniferous, fruit trees and grapes were to be plnated near Ashgabat between Anau and Baharly in 2014. Another 1.5 million young trees will form manmade forests in the regions. The President of Turkmenistan issued the relevant Resolution at the February 21 meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. The ministries and departments and the khyakimliks of Ashgabat and the regions are responsible for executing the Resolution.
