298 candidates to replace the resigned members of Gengeshi and 4 candidates to replace the resigned members of the Mejlis were registered. The nomination of candidates was initiated by the political parties, public organisations and associations and groups of citizens.
33 polling stations were opened in two constituencies Mary Velayat for the elections to the Mejlis, and 149 electoral districts were formed and 138 polling stations were opened in the territories of towns in etraps, settlements and gengeshliks for the elections to Gengeshi.
