The action of burning a large batch of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances seized by the law enforcement and military agencies of Turkmenistan during the successful special actions took place nearby Bagabat village in Ak Bugdai Etrap, Ahal Velayat to mark the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
The action organized by the Government of Turkmenistan, the State Coordination Commission on Drug Abuse under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and the State Service for the Protection of the Healthy Society brought together the heads of the military and law enforcement agencies and public organisations and the representatives of foreign diplomatic missions accredited in our country, the major international organisations, including the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNDOC) and the OSCE, and the media.
The batch of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances weighing 232 kilograms were burnt. Before burning, the packages with narcotic drugs seized during the special actions were demonstrated to those present. Each participant could throw a package of the dangerous smuggling goods into the special furnaces. The action was monitored by law enforcement officers and authorized experts.
