Sacred holiday of Byelorussian friends

Yesterday evening, a festive reception of Embassy of Republic of Belarus in Turkmenistan was held in the banquet room of “Ashgabat” hotel. Occasion for solemnity was significant date, which contained two important events of history of Belarus. 70 years ago, on July 3, 1944, the Byelorussian land was liberated from fascist aggressors and this date became the starting point in new history of Belarus, having become the birthday of the country’s independence.


Representatives of leadership of our country, heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Turkmenistan, war veterans of 1941-1945, representatives of clergy, mass media were invited for solemnity.

Today, 59 war veterans, who fought in Byelorussian battlefronts, reside on the territory of Turkmenistan. At the reception, some of them were awarded with jubilee medals on behalf of President of Republic of Belarus Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko. Of course, most of veterans couldn’t come to this solemnity, but all of them will receive the jubilee medals and letters of gratitude on behalf of the President of Belarus.


War veterans, who fought in the first, second and third Byelorussian battlefronts, participants of partisan movement: Guvanch Muratliyev, Nikolai Gorshkov, Artem Bagdasarov, Nikolai Kozyryev, Nurberdi Kushliyev are among awarded persons. On this day, “old guard” of fighters listened to the words of gratitude from all participants of the holiday, who appreciate the memory of descendants. And now, living under peaceful sky, each of us has to remember how the world is fragile and how we are responsible for its safety.
